CAS Provo, Utah

I decided to fly over to CAS in Provo, Utah. CAS is awesome!!! I was able to visit Mrs. Fossum's sixth grade class, and meet all of Mrs. Fossum's ducks! I had a great time.

Quack Report:

I stood next to the flag pole when I tested out my quack, and it was fabulous!!!! My quack's echo was my loudest echo yet!!

In-N-Out Burger, Provo, Utah

I feel like having a burger for lunch!
Have you ever been to In-N-Out burger? Well if you like a good burger you should give it a try.

In-N-Out's first location opened in 1948 in Baldwin Park, California by Harry Snyder. Snyder had a simple plan that is stll in use today: "Give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment." Sounds good to me!

This burger joint went over so well it grew into a chain of restaurants. When Harry Snyder died (in 1976) their were 18 In-N-Outs open! Isn't that amazing?

In 2008 In-N-Out finally came to Utah when it opened a location in Washington, Utah (a suburb of St. George). And in 2009 the chain opened three more locations in Utah--one of them was in Orem! I happened to be heading to Provo so I stopped at the Orem, Utah location for a burger on my way.

I found out for myself that In-N-Out burger is truly awesome. I ordered a burger, fries, and a pink lemonade. I ended up falling into my drink . . . I think next time I'll order a chocolate shake.

This food is soooo good!

The burger was AMAZING!!!! At first I had a hard time eating it because it was so big and my bill is kind of small. But I finally got the hang of it.

I am one happy duck!

Quack Report:

I quacked after I finished my burger. I was so full, my quack wasn't that great. The echo wasn't very good either, but the burger was worth it!!

Salem, Massachusettes

Salem, Massachusetts is one of the oldest cities in the United States and I got to stop by for a visit!

Salem, which is about 20 miles north of Boston, is really famous for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. During the time people were randomly accused of witchcraft. They were put on trial for it and many people were even executed over it.

I was able to fly around in the famous cemetery where many of the people who were involved in the trial, or got accused of being a witch, were buried. A lot of the graves there are over 300 years old!! Incredible, right?

In the 1960's and 70's there was a very popular T.V series called "Bewitched." I've seen a few episodes and it was a pretty funny show. Well, in the center of the town there is a statue dedicated to Samantha Stevens who was the main character on the show. It was pretty exiting to see many of the actors that appeared in "Bewitched" had been there, and even dedicated the statue for the city of Salem. I think that's awesome!!!!

Look! I'm flying with Samatha!

Quack Report:

I quacked in the center of town. My quack was horrible. The echo could barely even be heard. I think it was because it was so open.

Africa: Mount Kilimanjaro

I flew all the way to Africa!! Pretty cool, right?!

Have you ever heard of Mount Kilimanjaro? It's Africa's highest point and the worlds highest free standing mountain. Well, my friend and I got to climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. I climbed along with him most of the way but flew when it got to hard on my feet.

What a VIEW!!
It is super hot at the bottom of the mountain the top is so high up that it is only fourteen degrees up there! Just another reason I always wear my scarf . . . .

Wowie! It's cold up here!
After Mount Kilimanjaro, I decided to go on a safari. It was really awesome!! I got to see a giraffe, and even a gorilla!! I would have posed for the pictures, but I was too scared. Those animals are pretty frightening.

Quack Report:

I got so scared when I saw the animals on the safari I quacked then. It was loud!! The echo even scared the animals!!

Renaissance Festival, Arizona

This silly picture was taken at a Renaissance Festival in Arizona! Can you see me in it? If you look close enough you will.

A Renaissance Festival is full of sights, sounds, and experiences to help you feel like your in an early European village! The Arizona Renaissance Festival was awesome!! It has a lot of really fun things to do like a petting zoo and of course taking funny pictures.

I really enjoyed taking silly pictures because I love to make silly faces.

I also really enjoyed the petting zoo. I had no idea that sheep had such soft wool! It wasn't scratchy at all!!

Being at the  Renaissance  festival got me in the mood for Shakespeare! And it just so happened that one of the comments on my blog invited me to the CAS 6th grader production of the Tempest. Like I said, I was already in the Shakespeare mood and I thought it might be fun to go see the Tempest. So last week, I flew down to Provo, Utah and enjoyed watching their play.

The Tempest is about Prospero who is the Duke of Milan, but everyone thinks he is dead because Antonio-Prospero's brother and Alonso-the King of Naples got rid of Prospero and his daughter Miranda by putting them in a boat and sending them into the sea. Prospero's friend Gonzalo put food, water, and books of magic into the boat so Prospero and Miranda could live. Then they came ashore to an island.

A Ship gets wrecked in a shipwreck near the island, and with the help of Prospero's fairy, Ariel, everyone survives. But then she scattered everyone all over the island. During all this mayhem, Miranda meets Ferdinand (who is the kings son) and they fall in love.  All this is going on while Antonio and Sebastion plan to kill the king so they can take over the island. Meanwhile, Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban are planning to kill Prospero so THEY can take over the island. I thought It was an awesome play--and very well done!!!

Quack Report:

I tested my quack at the Renaissance Festival, in Arizona. My quack was amazing!!! The echo was fantastic!!! I think I even scared the sheep a little.

Oregon Coast

I got to go all the way to the Oregon Coast!! It was amazing.

The beaches on the coast aren't sandy and hot like the beaches in Hawaii but the scenery is breath taking.

The Oregon Coast has some beautiful lighthouses so I decided to check them out. The lighthouses I saw were not longer in use because maintenance expenses. Not to mention that there are all sorts of really cool navigational devices now so people don't need lighthouses they way they used to. I waddled around a lot of them and got to practice some new stunt take-offs for them top of them.

While at the coast we stayed at a house that had a huge window that I really enjoyed looking out. I loved sitting and watching the waves as they came in and also saw some amazing sunsets.

While at the coast I made friends with some of the seagulls. We played tag together and I had a blast!Though, it was a little scary at first because and I thought they were going to eat me!! But then I realized they were just trying to be friendly.

Quack Report:

My quack's echo was amazing!!!! It was unforgettable!!!!!!

Warsaw Poland, Jordan, and Petra

These photo sessions are fabulous!!!
Guess What?! I got to visit Poland! How awesome is that?!

Poland is a fantastic place, though, it is cold. It was -20 degrees Celsuis!! It's a good thing I had my scarf with me!

I stayed there with my friend, Jola. Jola likes taking pictures, and I got to go with her on some of her photo sessions! I really liked the night sessions, because the city wasn't as crowded and noisy. She got a lot of really great pictures!! If you click on the pictures you can see larger versions of them. It is definitely worth seeing the larger versions because her pictures are wonderful.

Łazienki Park is awesome!!!
First I went to Łazienki Park. Łazienki Park is fabulous!!! I liked looking at all of the statues, but I especially love posing for pictures with them.

When I saw the sun dial I thought that was really beautiful but unfortunately, I couldn't read it. However, I had fun trying.

After I posed with the statues I played in the branches of some trees. It was really fun, and I was able to practice flying take-offs. I figured out a a lot of really great take-off techniques! On one of my flying take-offs, I landed on the ground right next to a squirrel. He was gathering nuts, so I helped him out and flew some of his nuts up in the tree where he was stashing them.

Jordan is very picturesque!!

While I was visiting, Jola had a trip to Jordan scheduled so I decided to go with her. Jola and I stayed in DoubleTree Hilton Hotel. It was really fun to quack in the corridors, while flying around. That is, until the security gaurd told me I had to stop because I was causing too much commotion.

Wow! Petra is amazing!!!!
This is me in Cracov, isn't Saint Mary's Church Tower amazing?!!

While we were in Jordan, Jola and I visited Petra. It's an Ancient town, hewn in the rocks. It was really awesome to visit. Did you know that part of the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was filmed in Petra?

We also visited Cracov.  There were a lot of really amazing things to look at there. After that, we went to St. Mary's Church Tower, and heard the traditional trumpet bugle call! That was really awesome to hear. I hope I can visit Jola again sometime soon!!

Quack Report:

I tested my quack in Petra, and let me tell you my quack in the rocky canyon was AMAZING!!!! I bet the echo was heard 7 miles away!!!
